Studied art history, heritage studies and curatorial practice at the University of Amsterdam and the VU University, specialised in visual art of the 20th and 21st centuries, artists networks and visual culture. In addition a curator-in-training (2013-2014) at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and worked on collections and exhibitions like Kazimir Malevich and the Russian Avant-Garde and Stedelijk at Trouw: Contemporary Art Club, which included work by a.o. Tracey Emin, Cyprien Gaillard, Camille Henrot, Sarah Morris, Hannah Perry, Elizabeth Price.

Worked as a curator at Foam museum for photography (2014-2016) and has written for art spaces, magazines and blogs. Collaborated for Foam with international organisations and galleries, and initiated group shows, as well as solo exhibitions with a.o. Nobuyoshi Araki, Roe Ethridge, Katy Grannan, Momo Okabe and Bruno Zhu. Also curated Foam exhibitions for a.o. Nationale Opera en Ballet and Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam.

Is an advisor for the Mondriaan Fund (2014-), the Amsterdamse Fonds voor de Kunst (2017-) and the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds (2018-). And advises, writes and lectures for artists and institutions too. In the Netherlands bigger and smaller collaborations with a.o. Amsterdam Art Weekend, Andaz Collection, Buitenplaats Doornburgh, Cinekid, De Appel, Eye Film Institute, Kriterion, Metropolis M, SSBA Salon, World Press Photo, Rietveld Academie, Sandberg Instituut, Witte de With center for contemporary art etc. Active board member of Kunsten '92.

Since July 2016 Artistic Director at Kunstfort bij Vijfhuizen, Island for Art and Heritage in The Netherlands. The focus of this 19th century fortress, UNESCO World Heritage, is on international exchange, research and art exhibitions around the topics of ecology and (artificial) nature, structures of defence, and alternative models. Her program is inspired by the genre of science fiction.

Within this framework aims to bring together international and Dutch artists both emerging and established in order to create a sustainable program. Since then the Kunstfort initiated (on-going) collaborations with amongst others Raymond Barion, Eitan Ben-Moshe, Catherine Bioccia, Kim David Bots, Jacob Dwyer, Toon Fibbe, Tamar Harpaz, Rachel de Joode, Botond Keresztesi, Eva Fiore Kovacovsky, Olya Oleinic, Mounira El Qadiri, Sarah Ancelle Schonfeld, Dan Walwin, Kerstin Winking and Joeri Woudstra.

Independent research: the landscape in contemporary (digital) art; interchange and mutual influences between image and design; performance and identity in online culture.
